WINTER.FOUR OUT NOW!!!

06-Feb-2005: The Fire Union "Winter Four" compilation has finally come back from the manufacturing plant! It includes 14 tracks of Canadian metal, spans several sub-genres, and is sure to be stuck in your CD player for weeks. Visit the Current Projects section of the site for more information!

27-Dec-2004: Good news! The gold master has been shipped to the manufacturing plant. The first quarter release of the Fire Union newsletter will be a bit late shipping, but will come with the free Fire Union compilation CD!

02-Dec-2004: All tracks for the compilation have been received! The compilation is currently being mastered and will shortly be sent to the manufacturing plant.

23-Oct-2004: Now Closed! All available tracks are now filled. We are currently waiting for the submissions by mail. If everything proceeds as planned, the compilation will be available for the next Fire Union newsletter!

Several Fire Union Artist Members have asked about submitting music to be distributed amongst the membership. At this point sending compact discs with each newsletter is not feasible. Instead we are proposing a compilation that will be circulated twice per year. This is how it will work:

Each compilation will have 15 songs. Each artist will submit one song, up to five minutes in length, with their contact information. Each artist will buy 25 copies of the compilation for $125.00. This works out to be $5.00 per unit.

To ensure that the artists featured on the compilation are paid accordingly for their track, the artists will be the distributors of the compilation. They may sell them at a suggested retail price of $10.00, doubling their money and keeping the profit for themselves. They may also distribute their copies for promotional purposes.

To help with distribution the Fire Union will create a list of participating artists, by geographic location, on the website. All sales will go through the artists.

There will also be enough copies to send to every Fire Union member! As well, each compilation will have an additional 25 copies manufactured in support of charity. For the first compilation, we have chosen to donate to CJSR's Mind Compression metal radio show in Edmonton to help with fundraising this year.
